Will People Be Turning To Diet Coke For Their Daily Supplements?
Coke is now trying to reach health conscious consumers by promoting a new "sparkling beverage" which will be fortified with vitamins and minerals. Coke will be introducing "Diet Coke Plus" which will contain niacin, vitamins B6 and B12, magnesium, and zinc. Pepsi will be following suit by introducing "Tava" which will contain vitamins B3, B6, and E, as well as chromium. They will be called "sparkling drinks" as opposed to "soda drinks" due to the fact that we are becoming more aware of the harm soda can do to our bodies. Supposedly, the CEO of Coca-Cola asserts their diet drinks as "wellness brands." But come on, folks, is this really healthy? These so-called sparkling drinks will still contain artificial ingredients, will still leach the calcium from our bodies and break down our bones, and will still lead to obesity. I believe the cons will out weigh the pros. The best way to get your vitamins and minerals will still be from eating real food.
